Frequently Asked Questions & What to Expect on Walk Day!
Parking: Free parking across the street from Sylvester Baxter Riverfront Park. The park is adjacent to Legal Seafood and behind Starbucks. You can park anywhere in the Market parking lot. Additionally, there is TJ Maxx, Raymour & Flanigan’s and Trader Joe’s. We will have signs directing you to the park onsite.

8:30am: The NKF Walk festivities begin!

- If you have any additional cash or checks that you would like to turn in, go to the Donation tent which you will see upon entering the park.
- Activities: NKF Kids corner – including kid’s activities; coloring stations, games, magicians, stilt walkers, face painter, temp tattoo (airbrush) artist, and a balloon twister to create art for children and tables from our Sponsors. Don’t forget to get a photo with Sidney the Kidney!
- All team captains are encouraged to visit the NKF Tent to sign the walk banner. There will be materials there to pick up and decorate your team banner. Feel free to bring photos or other items to decorate your banner!

- No matter the weather, we walk together! The Walk is rain or shine. Please check the weather forecast and plan accordingly. Don’t forget your sunblock, hat and water bottle.
- Route: Non-competitive 5K walk around the park. The route is wheelchair, stroller, and leashed-dog friendly! We will have a 1-mile marker turnaround point if you want to head back. A map of the route will be posted once it’s confirmed, stay tuned!
Unable to attend on Sunday, October 5, 2025 - can I still participate?
Yes! You can still register as a Walker, fundraise, and walk on your time! After registering, you will receive an email from Mary Cannon, Development Director. You can contact me anytime at 508.907.6030 x336 or mary.cannon@kidney.org for fun and creative ways to participate, engage, and fundraise!
You are always welcome to walk on your own time. Use our Kidney Walk app to connect with other walkers in your area and across the U.S. who are choosing to walk the same way! No matter how you choose to walk we will all be united by our belief in the need for better care and longer lives for kidney patients - for YOU and the ones you love.
