WHY I WALK I am walking for all of the black and brown girls who find themselves in this unwarranted situation. My name is Kayla and I am the creator of the podcast SnapBack2Lyfe. I have been dealing with the uncertainties of dialysis for the past 5 and a half years now. I started off at a young age when I thought my life was going in the right direction. And because of health disparities and limited education I unfortunately ended up on dialysis. But as a millennial I looked towards social media for help and guidance about what I was going through and found little to none representation of people who looked like me that was fight the fight I am currently in. That is where SnapBack2Lyfe came about. A resource for those of the younger demographic going through the experience of dialysis and learning how to get back on our feet while dealing with this new normal. So please help me in supporting those who support me through the NKF and other healthcare services and programs. I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come. I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation: - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers. - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors. - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist. Are you with me? PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A GENEROUS DONATION.
