WALK WITH ME. YEAR TEN!!
There is so much suffering and strife in the world. When I think about it I can feel myself slipping toward despair. So, I grab onto the things that give life meaning and purpose. That includes walking in memory of my mom, Wanda, and knowing that it supports important work for all of us with kidneys: addressing inequity, increasing access to care, providing important education and advocacy, and in some relatively small ways, making the world a better place. When Wanda was still with us, in those last years of her long life (she lived to 95!), she enjoyed hearing about my work and the Kidney Walk team that she inspired and fueled. Over the 9 years Walking for Wanda has laced up, we (you and me) have raised over $32,000. And yes, this is year 10 -- our 10th anniversary!!
I am so grateful.
And our work is not done.
