WHY I WALK

I walk because one of the closest people in my life shared part of themself with me. I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have someone willing to be there for me when I needed it most.

Since receiving my transplant, I have had the energy to be an active parent in my toddler's life, to be a supportive husband, and to once again fully enjoy life's moments with friends and family. I wake up every day with the recognition of what I am capable of doing and knowing this is all possible because of my friend's selfless act.

I walk to encourage others to be this lifeline to their loved ones and to recognize how meaningful their donation can be. This donation not only gives me the freedom to enjoy life, but allows my little family to grow and explore the world together.
