Why I walk!

My name is Allen Rogers. For the last 26 years, I have struggled with kidney disease through the disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, a kidney disease which hindered my kidney's ability to process protein. Throughout my life, I have had several biopsies, blood tests, and, most recently, a kidney transplant. Prior to the transplant, the effects were present nearly everyday. I had frequent edema on my face, emotional instability, and random pains throughout the night. Post kidney transplant, I feel like a new person. I have new energy, a new outlook on life, and hopeful for the future. 

I hope you'll join me in walking with the National Kidney Foundation on April 26th at the Kidney Walk in our of the National Kidney Foundation and the efforts they take to benefit the lives of kidney patients such as myself.
