Why I Walk

This year I walk in my 15th Twin Cities Kidney Walk! What a blessing that it has been this long since my life-saving kidney transplant from my living donor son, Steve, and that I am doing so well.

And during this time I have seen Steve get married, my daughter Erin graduate from college and pursue her art career, the arrival of two grandchildren, promotion to the Master level in karate and now 6th degree Black Belt, and so many joyful events, friends, and family along the way.

I am again asking for your support, as you know how powerful your past support has been and how grateful I am for it. My hope is that so many more people will be helped, as I was, in their battle with kidney disease.

I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.

Are you with me?

Thank you so much, Bob
