Why I Walk

As many of you know, my dad was diagnosed at the young age of 3 with Nephrotic Syndrome. He spent most of his life in and out of the hospital and spent well over 20 years on dialysis before passing away at the young age of 47 in 2005. I am an organ donor because of my dad, I now work in Clinical Research in the Renal Electrolyte & Hypertension division in hopes to one day be a part of a some amazing scientific break throughs and possible cures. I walk because too many families (like mine) are coping with this rare and devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist which my dad was on for many years.

Are you with me?

Please consider supporting my efforts with a generous donation and or come out and walk with us Saturday October 1, 2022 Festivities being at 8:30am!!
