On March 16, 2022 at UC Davis in Sacramento, I was deeply honored to become a living kidney donor on behalf of my amazing friend, Wilson Du. We were part of a 4-paired exchange with four donors and four recipients having surgeries over the month of March.
Wilson is an extraordinary human, he is an inspiration to so many, myself included! After nearly six years on dialysis, he now gets to fulfill his dreams and imagine his future in a whole new way.
I walk because, today, in California alone, there are 20,000 people awaiting a life-saving transplant. Like Wilson, they too want the opportunity to think about their futures absent of dialysis or other life-altering measures.
