Kimmie needs a kidney! Kimmie had a kidney and pancreas transplant in September 2011. The donor kidney developed an internal disease and has failed. At this time, she has been listed on the UNOS transplant list for a new kidney. A live donor will be her best chance at survival. She is currently listed with the George Washington Transplant Clinic, located in Washington DC (near the GWU hospital). Information on becoming a Living Donor, including the process for testing to donate, is available through the GWU Transplant Clinic. More information is available below. Why We Walk
This year, our team has joined others throughout the country to fight against kidney disease. On May 01, 2022 we’ll walk for our loved ones, colleagues or friends who cope with this devastating chronic illness each day – and for those who lost their fight too soon.Together, we walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
Will you join us?
Walk with us and fundraise -or- support our efforts with a generous donation to improve the lives of kidney patients in our community and across the country.
