WHY I WALK:  The National Kidney Foundation has helped me personally, as well as others over the years. I spent 11 years on dialysis, and am now a Kidney/pancreas organ transplant recipient of 10 wonderful years and counting. To me, I believe this could not have been possible without the continued efforts of National Kidney Foundation. I will say as a survivor of this chronic illness, I am and will forever be grateful to The National Kidney Foundation. I ask of you, my family and friends, to kindly help me to keep this wonderful organization going. There are too many families (like mine) who are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.
