WHY I WALK WHY I Walk The site says why I walk, it's not I it's WE. This is my family's fifth year fundraising for the National Kidney Foundation. In 2013 I was diagnosed with kidney failure but was lucky enough to do peritoneal dialysis. There were so many difficulties fighting kidney disease but if you know me you know I tried to keep me head up. When I got my diagnosis, I was not working, and did not have medical insurance. The NKF stepped up and paid for my treatments and Dr. visits. Later found work and got medical insurance but the first 2 months the NKF helped stays with me.

I walk. In March 2018 my life, and the Hilburn family's life would change forever. My father Felipe Hilburn passed away suddenly. With his sudden death he was able to gift me a kidney along with another man in Texas. My father is a proud served in the United States Army, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. My dad is a hero for serving his country and he was able to pass life to three others (both kidneys and liver). My dad is a one-of-a-kind man and a true inspiration. Please join me and my family and help raise money for the NKF this year.

I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation: - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.

- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors. - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist. Are you with ME!!

PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING MY EFFORTS WITH A GENEROUS DONATION.
