We are walking in memory of Sarah Jackman. She was a writer, baker, cat lover, Columbia graduate, and favorite aunt. She passed away February 6, 2022. Sarah received two kidney transplants during her life. Her brother donated his kidney after hers failed at age 20. The kidney lasted seven years. Sarah spent the next three years (while continuing her undergraduate degree) on dialysis before receiving a kidney from a donation chain that included her sister. These transplants changed, and saved, her life. We hope to honor Sarah and her siblings who donated their kidney to her. With them in our hearts and mind, we will support all who suffer from kidney disease.
