Why I WalkI plan to walk this year in the Long Island Kidney Walk on October 23rd and raise money towards the National Kidney Foundation because I have lived with chronic kidney disease almost my whole life. It has impacted me physically and mentally along with my loved ones.
At the age of 21 I found out I’m progressing to kidney failure and now, at the age of 22, I’m expected to get a kidney transplant most likely within the next year with no exact timeline at the moment. This year I plan on walking for the first time if capable to support the other adults and children in this country that are struggling with chronic kidney disease and kidney failure. If I am not physically capable by October (the day of the walk), I still plan to fundraise to show my support for the foundation and others.
It’s important to be there for one another- nobody can fight their battles alone.
I plan to walk/fundraise to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation- I am attaching a link that educates on what the National Kidney Foundation has done to improve the world of medicine. Please help me fundraise and walk beside me this fall at the Long Island NKF walk.
