Why I Walk

I walk in honor of my beloved mother, Lois. Almost 2 years ago my mom was diagnosed with renal failure leading to a long a hard fight with hopes to one day receive a kidney transplant. Regardless of how poorly she felt, Mom would always say things were “just ducky” and “fabulous”. 

We sadly lost mom unexpectedly in January. It is our hope that our team’s contribution will help others’ loved ones get off the transplant list and fight this devastating chronic illness.
 

We walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:

     - To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they needanswers.

     - To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.

     - To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.

Too many families are coping with this devastating chronic illness, and thousands more will face an unexpected kidney disease diagnosis in the year to come.​
