My 2021 Kansas City Kidney Walk Fundraising Page

Brad Duff

In 2015, I donated a kidney to a family friend who suffered from chronic kidney disease (CKD). It was one of the most impactful and humbling experiences of my life. Through that experience and my work with The National Kidney Foundation (NKF), my eyes were opened to the scourge of CKD. Did you know that:

• Kidney disease is the 9th leading cause of death in the US
• 15% of US adults—37 million people—are estimated to have CKD and 1 in 3 are at risk • Most (9 in 10) adults with CKD don’t even know they have it
• Studies show that COVID-19 patients who have CKD or develop coronavirus- kidney injury face higher odds of death than their otherwise healthy peers
• Communities of color are overrepresented among patients with end-stage kidney disease, with Black or African Americans being 3 times more likely to experience kidney failure than Whites

The NKF’s mission is simple, but urgent – to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, to improve the health and well-being of those affected, and to increase the availability of all organs for donation. I'm asking for your support via a small donation to sponsor my Kidney Walk team. Your generosity provides awareness, prevention, and treatment for those who have the disease and the millions more at risk due to diabetes and high blood pressure.

Thank you for joining this fight with me!
