Why I Walk
I walk to advocate for all the people out there who are struggling with kidney disease and lack adequate support systems.As someone whose father is a nephrologist, I hear several stories about the various conditions of his patients. What stuck with me the most was a home
dialysis patient of his, who passed away last Christmas from a lack of basic resource like heat in her house. I want to raise funds through my walk with National Kidney Foundation to help patients receive necessary and appropriate healthcare, dialysis treatments, and kidney transplants.
I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
