Hi, I’m Charles. I was born with hydronephrosis, a condition that causes excess fluid to build up in the kidneys. At 6 months old, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. Living with this disease for the last 24 years has been hard. I’ve always just wanted to live a “normal” life, but in many ways, my condition left me feeling like an outsider looking in. With the love and support of my family & friends, I have come to better terms with my condition and am working towards living a healthier lifestyle. Now, at stage 5 CKD, I am preparing for dialysis treatments and a transplant in the future. I am one of the millions in this very position. I am walking for awareness towards this disease that affects so many. I am walking for myself!
