WHY I WALK
I walk to support the local patient support programs of NKFCT. Programs that provide new kidney patients with key information related to a healthy renal diet, how to find a living donor, answer their questions regarding infectious diseases, familiarize them with the key people at the transplant centers within the State of Connecticut. A lot of new terms are thrown at a kidney patient during a very stressful time. These programs help ease the anxiety and provide the patient the information they need.
I walk to support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation:
- NKF Peers Program which links a kidney patient with another patient who has had a similar journey with kidney disease and can guide them on their journey.
- To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
- To drive innovation in transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
Are you with me?
